I love faces!  But not just human faces.  Fortunately, I live in rural Nova Scotia where neighbours know one another and visiting is commonplace. Many of my neighbours happen to be farmers!

Process
I’m delighted by the happenstance of composition that occurs when I photograph animals and people simply being themselves. I'm delight in colour and enjoy exploring how flat colourfields can define forms in my digital serigraphs, inspired, in part, by artists such as Andy Warhol and contemporary printmaker, David Gillespie.

I also love to paint and make marks - collaging my digital paintings onto traditional painted board and canvas.  I derive great pleasure from toying with the picture plane and playing with warm delicious colours.

Artist Statement
My work is an exploration of that moment of eye contact when we become engaged with another.  My subjects press to the fore of the picture plane openly invite engagement with the viewer.

Bio
I’m a photographic and mixed media artist, having studied painting, drawing, sculpting and photography at The Toronto School of Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario and, in Montreal, at The Dawson School of Photography.

I’m a member of the Alliance of Kings Artists, Nova Scotia Designer Craft Counsel, Visual Arts Nova Scotia, and the artist collective, Seven.  I curate for the Designer Café in Kentville and work as a professional artist and photographer.

My work has been seen in group and solo exhibitions in Toronto and in Nova Scotia, where I’m represented by Harvest Gallery in Wolfville and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia - Art Sales and Rental.. My husband and I now reside and create on our four acres of Acadian forest in the inspiring Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.
